New information obligation for commercial suppliers
New information obligations under the Regulation on Online Dispute Resolution in Consumer Matters
Since January 9, 2016, new legal information obligations have been in place for entrepreneurs established in the EU on the basis of Art. 14 of EU Regulation 524/2013 on Online Dispute Resolution ("ODR Regulation"). When concluding online purchase contracts or online service contracts, i.e. a purchase or service contract in which the trader or the traders agent has offered goods or services via a website or other electronic means and the consumer has ordered these goods or services on this website or other electronic means, the trader is obliged to provide an easily accessible link to the EU online dispute resolution platform. This link is for example ec.europa.eu .
